Programming languages Print

A generic language should be developed offering linguistic support for high-level SCE programming, expressing awareness and allowing for exchange of knowledge. In particular, the Service-Component Ensembles Language (SCEL) will support the following layers:

  • behaviour of individual components
  • the network structure of the ensemble
  • the environment in which the ensemble operates
  • the goals and properties of the whole ensemble

The knowledge models and processing mechanisms will be seamlessly embedded in SCEL, which has a well-specified semantics based on process calculi.

This objective will be investigated in work package 1.
